If Bury go broke

The BBC report that Bury are about to face a winding up petition from HMRC. It goes without saying we hope it doesn't happen, but if they did go broke how would they be replaced? Would it become 5 up from our division, or only three down from theirs and then three up from the national league?

I think in the very unlikely possibility that this happens, one less team will be relegated from each division. This will filter down through the pyramid until the leagues have balanced.

Just about every Monday a football club, professional and non-league, face a winding-up petition, usually brought by HMRC. Almost every case is procedural and the debt is settled.

The last petition against a professional football club that went to the wire was probably ours.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to that Kevin Heeney (?) chap - or OLGA as I used to call him (obnoxious little ginger ar$ehole)? Is he still around anymore?
