A stark reminder that we must be run as a business first. Many don’t like it, but there is a reason for prudence.

I've never really been able to understand why football is allowed to get away with the levels of debt it does. It seems to operate in a different financial world to the rest of business. You would think the DTI would have stepped in at some point as so many clubs over the last 10/15 years have either gone through or nearly had insolvency issues with many small firms ultimately losing valuable money when the settlements have eventually been made.
