Have just been to the Opening Ceremony, which attracted a crowd of around 30,000 lining the streets of Coleraine for the welcome Parade of the 54 competing teams from all over the world, accompanied by 12 different Irish pipe and drum bands.
Argyle's youngsters were rubbing shoulders with their counterparts from Manchester United, Glasgow Rangers, Southampton, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and other top teams from Chile, Brazil, Mexico, USA, France, New Zealsnd, Ghana, Japan and China in the best international youth tournament staged in the UK.
Good to see Chris Harrison with the other coaches.
The Young Pilgrims have only been able to attend this, and the previous four tournaments, thanks to the generous financial backing of PASOTI, the Supporters Club, Green Taverners, Senior Greens, 50/50 Draw etc..

If it does, it must be part of the etc, Davie.
Insignificant amount then?
My point is that members who are paying £117 per annum to the BGL should be assured that they are contributing to this important Academy venture.

I am surprised when the subject of academy's comes up and this is rarely mentioned compared to them up the road. I assume they are too good to send a squad every year and prefer to give the likes of Man U the chance of winning.

This competition has always benefitted the lads and whilst we go in as one of the younger teams we never let the side down. Good luck lads.

Them up the road cannot afford to let the rest of the world see what talent they have. They need to sell them for millions not lose them for thousands.

They won't all have a million pound + sell on though will they? Their gravy train is likely to end as it began and they'll be back to the same as us. In terms of quantity we have probably had more players still making a living out of the game rather than the 1 or 2 that have got on from Exeter.

Grimes has almost been proven that he wasn't what Swansea expected and Leeds said he was their worst loan/signing ever. Liam Sercombe spent a year being a bit part player for Oxford before being sold on. Ollie Watkins and Ethan Ampadu? What next.

Our young players will have every chance and you have to say that in light of DAs expounding Sangster's involvement in the PSFs must surely be a reason to be hopeful.
