Over the new season, one feature that has been pointed out is our "team of giants".
We certainly have a lot of threat. Jervis, Grant (scored a good header against Torquay pre-season off a corner), Blissett, Sarcevic, Bradley, Edwards, Songo..etc...suddenly we do seem to have options from set pieces.
I have noticed in the pre-season and the home league match that we had variations from our corners. Cant remember last season too many different types of corner. For example, the Chance 1st half against Charlton where Jervis runs from the back of the pack and Carey hits a low, driven ball to him towards the near post around 10 yards from goal. He hit it first time. Was unlucky not to score. It's like there has definitely been an emphasis put working on set plays.
Now Ciftci is here he looks like you wouldn't want to mess with him. l would say this about Bradley, Edwards, Sarcevic and probably Ness. Suddenly we have a spine in the team that's quite powerful. Hopefully they can stay fit (in Ness's case) and re-discover his form (in Ciftci's case).
With a more mobile CM, who can cover the ground, l think that would make our team very interesting but at the same time you feel another ST option is needed if Fletcher isn't gonna be given a go. With one signing to go though, it feels the team now is slowly coming together because we have options on the bench too who excite.
Pace and power. Argyle have finally got a team that hits both those criteria in abundance. Just got to cross our fingers with injuries.
