Adams has said he's hoping to get something finalised by this weekend, one of the players has apparently turned down a number of other offers and it's now between us and another rival league 1 club, wonder what kind of players/positions they're in, and whether they're both the same kind of player

Definitely a possibility as that would also tally with something Adams said the other day about signing somebody that had just negotiated himself out of their contract

“Some players have been able to release themselves from their contracts and it allows them a couple of weeks or a month to get a new club.'

will be interesting to see if he signs for anyone over the next 2-3 days as that may answer our question

Yea sounds like a plea to Southend 'I really want to play for you but you haven't offered me enough money yet, come and get me'. I'd be very surprised if he left Essex tbh

Whatever happens this news and his comments on Saturday about just missing a couple of players on deadline day shows Adams has identified some shortcomings at this level that he's keen to address ASAP, would assume either another striker or midfielder.
