Unfortunatley the guest speaker is unable to come the replacement is Steve Rhodes known on here as memory man (he was a keeper) the topic will be about the period over Christmas in 1960 remember the two 6-4 games plus some unknown facts.

Just under 200 members attended the excellent Christmas buffet today, unfortunatley Tommy Tynan who was to be the mystery guest speaker was unable to attend.

Steve Rhodes (memory man) stood in and first made a quip about the person with an IQ of 165 who could not guess who SC was.
Steve topic was the mad 15 days in Dec 1960 when we played 3 FA cup ties against Aston Villa drawing the first game 3-3 at Villa then the replay at HP when the game was abandoned with the score 0-0 after 90 min and then the third game at HP where we lost 5-3.

He then talked about Argyle recording their heaviest defeat losing 9 nil at Stoke and the two games against Charlton losing 6-4 at the Valley on Boxing Day and winning 6-4 the day after Dec 27 with Wilf Carter scoring 5, Wilf only played because George Kirby got injured the day before.
