It would be such a shame to dig that up although if Argyle get to the Premier League it would have to be replaced in the second year. From next year under soil heating is to be mandatory in the Prem from a club's second season in the top flight.

I'm actually relieved no end that he's noticed we can't string 2 passes together. I've said the exact same thing every game I've been to and that the pitch is giving an advantage to our opponents. We should indeed train on it.

Maybe Sheridan should sign a few players, especially midfielders who know how to pass the ball,we might then return to a fortress home park....

Quality of the squad doesn't match that quality of the pitch.

In all seriousness we would be better suited to a heavy, bobbled pitch to stop the other teams out passing us and allow route 1 to be the only choice.

Absolutley pathetic . Don't blame the pitch , blame the crap manager and the garbage he has signed.

I agree that he's signed a load of inferior garbage but it is true that the billiard table pitch of ours is an own-goal on our part and costing us points.

Teams that are drilled to play football on the deck must think they've died and gone to Wembley when they come down here. It's like a chance for them to experience a once in a lifetime dream match on a perfect pitch. They relish the opportunity to express themselves and let rip with flair and panache.

Whereas Argyle on the other hand launch hoofballs into the stratosphere.

Absolutely infuriating.

Then bleddy well get some players that are good enough to use the pitch to the best advantage. Simples. We already have some, just a few more. A midfield would be a good place to start.

Sheridan is starting to sound absolutely desperate when he blames the quality of our pitch.

In any team sport, Coaches focus on making home advantage count as it's where you play half of your games, they get the right players and the right tactics to maximise the benefits of playing at home.

Instead, Sheridan's tactics are hoofball from the likes of Blanchard, who cannot pass to a green shirt to save his life, up to Reid or a 6'5" "super sub" who cannot head the ball.

Perhaps it was part of the administration agreement that we are not allowed to use our fantastic pitch because we didn't actually pay for it.

His comments have answered a long standing question of mine however, is it the players launching hoofballs in desperation because they're out of their depth? Or is it the manager telling them to play like that?

Well according to Sheridans comments it is the players lack of confidence leading to hoofball and it frustrates him as much as us.

Trouble is though he gets paid a heck of a lot of money to solve problems like that, it's his primary role. However he doesn't seem to be able to offer any genuine plausible solution and that's worrying.
