Best centre back partnership

As there has been recent debate on what is our best centre back partnership/ best back 3, I thought I'll ask; what's the best centre back partnership we have had since being back in league 2?

I would say the best 2 partnerships would proberly be;
Purse and Blanchard
Branston and Wotton (second half of last season)

Purse & Maxi, complimented each other perfectly and kept us in the league.

As for the best player, Nelson, brilliant!

Really? The amount of goals we concede through unforced errors is ridiculous, we only really have one CB there and it's not Trotman.

I agree though. Purse and Blanchard in the second half of 2011/12 were impenetrable.

I missed a lot of that half of the seasom for personal reasons, so can't really comment that much. Purse looked a bit past it to me and I've never really rated Blanchard, wouldn't judge. Branno first time around looked a darn sight better than what I saw from Purse. But, as I said, didn't see it so can only really go by what I've seen.

Wottsy and Cocko, without a shadow of doubt!

Played at least one whole season together without a single injury or suspension between them AND scored goals into the bargain.

It will be a long time before there is another partnership like that.

Good partnership but seem to recall it being more than 3 years ago! :lol:

:thumbdown: Nelson for sure, but I don't know about Blanchard. Overrated on here as far as I'm concerned, I'd sooner have Branston if he was still with us. Jamie Richards, our only left sided CB is worth a punt.

So? The title is "Best centre back partnership" and at the time of this partnership, we were in League 2.
