Interesting, looking at that really makes you realise that we still have a lot to do, that's a lot of points we still need to win.

I think that unless Wycombe rediscover their early season form we would need 80 points for automatic which means 1st place form of 2 points a game for the rest of the season. On recent evidence that is a realistic possibility. Play offs this year are looking like 72 or even as much as 74 points which should be well within reach.

How many points are there still to play for?
14 games to go ... 42 points available to grab
we're on 52 from 32 ... continuing at that output rate we'd end with 74/75 point
I always said 10 pnts from every 6 games should get playoffs. and we are just about on this
11 pnts from every 6 games should get automatic playoffs. and we are 7 points off this
its how actual table is panning out
get all 42 points and .....

If we end up in the playoffs it'll be almost exactly 19 years since our last go at them. There can't be too many clubs who have gone that long without a playoff appearance.

8 wins 4 draws and 2 defeats will give us 80 points which might just do it. A play off final with Luton could see a 60,000 gate. God forbid Pompey sneak in with a late run and it could be a huge turn out. Long way to go yet though and anything could happen.

Win 5, draw 5, lose 4. That should do it. The home games against Bury and Newport coming up are massive. We have two other tricky home games against Burton and Northampton but we have nothing to fear. We should be looking to take maximum points at Cheltenham, Dagenham and Carlisle also. It's completely in our hands, win all of our remaining home games and we'll be fine.

Can't understand those fans who think reaching the Play-offs is the aim.

I doubt the players think that and I'm pretty sure Sheridan doesn't.

We should be aiming at something like 9 wins, 3 draws and perhaps just a couple of defeats and hope that 82 points is enough to get third place.

Don't forget, if we do get to the Play-offs our loan players will not be available to play.

Standard Loans normally terminate on 1st June. It is only Emergency Loans that could be a problem.

Discounting clubs that have been promoted into the Football League in the last five years and the six clubs that have been in the top flight since the play-off era began, there are two current FL clubs that have never featured in any FL play-off series.

Coventry City and Exeter City

There are just three who have waited longer for a play-off place than Argyle

Chelsea 1988
Middlesbrough 1991
Blackburn Rovers 1992

Means absolutely nothing unless you factor in the fact that teams play each other! Proved by "being safe" on 73 points.......

I would be very surprised if we needed 75 for the play-offs. Especially with our goal difference. I think 71 would do it or even 70.

79/80 for third place. Difficult but not impossible.
