Neil was laid to rest this afternoon in a wonderful service, well attended and with many excellent stories told and retold about him.

His devotion to Argyle was a key aspect of the service, along with his love of music and all things Italian, with many tributes paid to his fierce intelligence and wit too.

Some of the comments left on Facebook and on this and other forums had been collected together for all to read - these had clearly touched his family deeply and they were grateful for the kind words spoken of Neil.

For those who were unable to attend and who may wish to make a useful contribution in Neil's memory, donations to the John Easton Hospice in Sutton-in-Ashfield would be welcomed.
Thanks John

Many thanks for posting John.

I echo John's words - Neil was given a totally appropriate 'send-off' yesterday, including the poignant singing of "He who would Valiant be" / To be a Pilgrim. Tyhee Slim was a one-off character. His personality 'rubbed-off' on just about everyone he met along the way. He will be greatly missed.

Sorry for the pedantry but I believe it's the John Eastwood Hospice.
