Oxford's game with Swindon got 9,013.
Sheffield United 5,497, Bristol Rovers 3,243.

Perhaps the 'sleeping giant' is waking up.

It looked like more than that to me.

You shouldn't have drunk so much beforehand.

You must always remember though that despite having two heads, Grecians are only counted once.

The ground holds 16,500 was there really 7,000 empty seats. Wasn't at the game but from the pictures never looked like there was that many empty seats

does that include the now derelict terrace in the Grandstand and dont forget the segregation.

Lets hope most of them return to the next home game.

Paignton....was Derby
I thought it was accurate. Lots of seats dotted around in numerous blocks and the segregation is massive best part of 600 seats per block and then the Mayflower too had many spare.

I assume that, unlike for league games which, apparently, includes all ST holders, regardless of attendance, the FA Cup, Capital One Cup, JPT games only include the ST holders who paid and attended.

You would assume so; especially as a known percentage of the gate has to be paid to both the opposition and the FL it would not pay to exaggerate the attendance figures.

With the prize money and 45% of the attendance I would hazard a guess that Argyle made between £50,000 and £60,000 from the game. Not bad for a supposedly Mickey Mouse cup.

Is the prize money still £7k for this round? If it is then they'd be hard pressed to get quite that much with at the most, fans paying £15. With matchday expenses as well as the VAT man taking his 20%, the total gate receipts dwindle away quickly before either club or the FL can claim their share. Cup games though are always an added bonus to a club's income.

I think your last sentence is the most salient.

It wouldn't have been budgeted for that's for sure.

I guessed about 10 000 during the game so IMO the official attendance seems fairly accurate.

Also, to those on other threads/Twitter who have been taking the p*ss out of how many Exeter brought down, we took less when we went there in the JPT a few years ago, I think there was about 4 or 500 of us. I can't stand City but it's not that of a bad away following.

There's a slight difference, a) We were totally on our knees and b) Look at the away end.

Here to advise.

PS I went and I wish I didn't.

Fair point.

I thought we played quite well that night with what was the worst team we've ever had, up against a L1 side, we were probably the better side over the 90 minutes, just useless during the shoot out (Would have got Cole on, Larrieu was never great with pens, although it wouldn't have mattered as we missed all of ours). Luke Daley's goal that night was something special.
