I foolishly forgot to check how old I was when I signed up to cycle from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in support of http://www.childgrwothfoundation.org. Equally foolishly, I didn't check the play-off dates and will find myself arriving in Tynemouth rather than Wembley on the big day - aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!
Been supporting the Greens for 45 years. Was at Wembley last time - heartbroken to miss this one. But, the CGF were a great support to us when my daughter was young. Miss Addio (chair and sole member of her SE London school's PAFC supporters club) had a tricky start to life and was fed by a tube in her tum to the age of 6. She's a flourishing 14 year-old now and the CGF, who do magnificent work, were a source of great comfort and help to us during her early years, so, bleddy shame that it is, it's not a bad reason to be missing out on Wembley.
I know there are lots of calls for help, so forgive me for making one more, but if any of the Green Army could spare an odd copper - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CGFCoast2Coast - in support of a good cause and a foolish old git who should know better, I, my family, and the CGF would be immensely grateful. It would also ease the pain waiting in them thar hills!
Not quite but almost as importantly, could anyone suggest a decent boozer where Miss and Mrs Addio and I could catch the match in Tynemouth?
