Pretty meaningless, granted, considering the standard of some of the opposition, but I think most of us would settle for a similar chart by around the end of November in the stuff that matters;

Not in anyway wishing to be rude but yes, absolutely meaningless. This and one or two other posts just confirm we are broadly through the "who will we sign next" excitement and drifitng in the pre season kick off boredom time. Lord only knows what someone will come up with next - the relationship between goals scored and colour of boots worn by the scorers?

Although like the OP said it's fairly meaningless given the opposition, I'd still expect the top 5 names in this list to be the top 5 goalscorers come the end of season so the list does has value in terms of showing where our goals are going to come from.

I also think it is interesting that time on the pitch has been spread around fairly even, giving everyone a chance to show what they can do. Now comes the time to put your best team forward and use the reserves to make an impact when needed. I see that Rooney has had more than 50% of game time compared to Songo'o, fair play to the lad. :scarf:

So in "not wishing to be rude" you then go on to make disparaging comments on something that you have no interest in.

Why comment? Why not just bypass it and move to the next topic?

I actually find it quite useful.

While the opposition is weak, i'm not sure we've had strikers in previous years who have been this prolific? DG scoring a goal every 45minutes is pretty impressive regardless of who we are playing and it shows the team are scoring goals.
