The Academy Development team have had a cracking start to the season and are currently sitting aloft at the top of the South West Peninsula League Premier Division.

However, their position at the summit is under threat and they have a big game against title rivals Tavistock this Friday night! I'm sure the young lads would appreciate some support from Devon's finest!

Kick off at Coach Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 1EJ is at 7.30pm and the bar will be open from 6.30 with hot food and refreshments.

I watched 15 minutes of the snozzle game midweek on FB and ben steer went off injured. So may
not have recovered in time. Pity as he looked very impressive in that short time i saw him.
There were other subs made i believe so maybe battle was injured as well.
They have now lost 2 games in succesion to top teams at this level. Which is good in that it
proves the standard is going to test them which is what we want. Same with the under 18s who
are struggling results wise. Younger players having to step up to replace the SWPL boys the
main reason i reckon. Again much more of a test for them both physically and mentally.
Were doing the loaning out for the stand outs as well now so the system is up and running.
Just need a bit more time and patience and then hopefully we will see some more of
our own coming through into the squad and then eventually first team again soon.
Edited to mention about seeing ryan lane coming on as a sub against snozzle.
I assume he is on some kind of SWPL contract with argyle now? Its good as he
deserves a longer spell to impress after all of his injury setbacks. I hope we
can do more of this kind of thing as it always seems unfair anyway that youngsters
are judged at a single point in time when some take longer to develop
than others.

Tavistock have one of if not the best local player in Glyn Hobbs.
