Is anyone else receiving email messages from our moderators?

I have received 5 so far in the last 70 minutes.

They all start "You are receiving this notification because you are watching the forum
"Argyle Discussion" at "PASOTI". This forum has received a new reply to the
topic .....then names of different topics. I have sent one reply asking if this was a scam but have not yet received a response.

Apologies to mods for raising it on here but I am confused.

As Smiffy has said, it could be that you have clicked on the 'Subscibe Forum' in error.

It's quite easily done by mistake on the mobile version, i've done it myself.

At the bottom of the main thread page where the page numbers are found there are two options below the numbers 'subscribe forum' to the left and something like 'mark topic' on the right. Just pressing one of these by accident will commence notifications.

Go to them again to cancel the process.

You're not alone, Ade, Davie.

There are gremlins in Pasoti causing e-mails to be sent to innocent people.

However, the remedy, as described by IJN & Smiffy, is a very easy solution to the problem.

The more difficult question to answer is "How did we come to 'subscribe' in the first place?"! I'm using a desktop!!

It's very handy for me Davie. That's why I'm so quick at reacting to various auctions, sweepstakes etc.

Very good if you're debating or asking a question as well.

You're getting touchy, Ian.

No conspiracy, you know me better than that.

Just an innocent comment on my part to indicate that there was more than the two that were affected, and the fact that I was not using a phone (fat fingers) but a desktop.

If there are more people affected, then there may be a hiccup in the system, if not then the Gremlins (or would they be Cornish piskies) may be at work. No other deduction may be made, surely?
