Very sad news - even though we knew it was coming. Farewell Brian from another ex-Efford Green. How well I remember, like you, climbing up the hill at Severn Place with my Dad to catch the football special bus from outside Highfield school. Being part of the 20,000-plus Home Park crowd in those days was quite something.

To brothers David, Derek and Kevin, to Brian's children and grandchildren, to his wider family and especially to his wife Benita, I send my sincere condolences. It is tragic to have lost Brian at such a young age. I can relate to your grief, having lost my younger brother John (who at one time played for Argyle's youth team) to cancer only eight months ago. It must be a difficult time for you all but I am sure you will come through it as a family even closer than before.

Sincere regards

Mike Healy

I was in the same year, at school, as Brian (Devonport High School) - sad to hear the news. Condolences to Brian's family.

RIP Brian, my brother Ian Langmead was at school with Brian, Alan Fortune and (presumably) Greenrod. I never posted over the weekend as my brother passed away in 2008 so I didn't know how to frame my message to him. I know my brother remembered him fondly and have seen him in tears of laughter relating an anecdote from those days.

So, if you see my brother Brian, give him my love, sit next to him, watch the game and see if we can win for you.

RIP mate

Condolences to family & friends. Bless you.

Some of the comments and reflections of the past really shows the positive side of being part of a football family of supporters.

Amen to that - hopefully Johnny Williams and Tony McShane will have the kettle on!
