I have received an email from Marilyn Coleman, Phil's widow. With her permission, it is pasted below.

Marilyn has also told me that due to Phil's illness, they have to go through a full post mortem and inquest, so there is nothing as to when Phil's funeral will take place.

I have asked Marilyn to let me know when that is.

Quote:
Hi Andy,

Thank you very much for making contact with my brother in law, Michael. I feel I know you quite well, as Phil was so pleased to 'meet up' with you again via Pasoti and told me such a lot about you when you and he were growing up together in Horrabridge.

During his illness, Plymouth Argyle and all the 'friends' he made on Pasoti, were a great comfort to him and he spent many a happy hour discussing the ups and downs of Argyle. We had planned to go to the last home match of the season, but Phil became too poorly. Luckily, he did not suffer at the end of his life and died peacefully in Derriford Hospital with Michael and Me at his side. I will always be relieved that he didn't suffer the usual long painful death of Mesothelioma.

I would like to thank everyone who took part in the Auction and to the person who kindly donated the shirt . It was an incredible amount of money to raise and I know the support group will be very grateful. all the members work very hard to raise funds to help fellow sufferers and also to raise awareness of the dangers of Asbestos. Mesothelioma is a terrible illness and so many people in the Plymouth area suffer because of their work in Devonport Dockyard. Sadly, we have no idea how or when Phil contracted the disease, but must have come into contact with Asbestos somewhere during the early part of his life.

I will be contacting Damon Lezner to thank him and to make arrangements for the presentation.

With Best wishes to you and your wife,

Marilyn Coleman

RIP Pilgrim. Another name I recognise well from PASOTI and it's with a heavy heart I learn of your passing. Rest well.

Thai Green was great fun in mini-chat, but also very friendly/caring and would ask after all of us, what we're up up, how we are etc. Never met Phil in person but a witty, warm and very thoughtful personality was conveyed on Saturday afternoons on Pasoti. A top bloke, very well thought of amongst us mini-chatters, I'm gona miss TG a lot.

RIP Thai Green

Following on from above...Phil's funeral will be a private, family funeral only.

I have spoken to Marilyn today - what a lovely, calm lady she is. She again wanted to thank everyone for their kind wishes and generosity. Talking Argyle on Pasoti and ATD were a release for Phil as he struggled with the Chemo. Marilyn is close to the Support Group at Derriford and although Ian has already transferred the money directly into their account they would like a presentation photo opportunity with one of those big cheques - written out to the SWMSG and made out from Phil Coleman's Friends. I will let everyone know when it is - it would be good if Nikkk and Goat (winner of the auction) could attend.

Damon, having had requests like this before, I reckon it should be just you, passing over the cheque to the SWMG.

Nik cannot attend, and I'm not sure Mr Goat wouldn't want his picture taken because he bought a shirt.

It's more of an oppurtunity for the SWMG (and quite rightly) to raise their profile in the local community.
