Agent Reuben your mission so far has been of mixed success. You managed the two encounters against Q very effectively ensuring 6 points went to the right place. We apologise again for the Q supporters chanting some nasty things, that's Special Agent, Undercover work for you. Maybe a few too many goals have since come and dives for penalties- where did you learn that trick? 'Tis? But you have worked well to give the nemesis false hope.

Anyway, your mission of presenting the Red enemy the ultimate false hope will now be to miss the deciding penalty in the Play Off Final shoot out. Missing it really badly, like a Chrissy Waddle or a Yann Kermongant. Take your pick. Just do not score. Once your mission is complete you will be assured a first team spot in a struggling, asset stripped L2 tinpot, which is about your natural level. This will ensure your career is prolonged for a few more seasons, otherwise you risk everything.

Good luck, Agent Reuben, over and out.

There's a few people on PASOTI creaming themselves tonight as well.

Sucking up to people that continue to shout murderer at our keeper and captain. Blackpool want to destroy them on the 28th.

Hardly.

People just expressing how decent a team they are. With Watkins, you have one of the best players in the league. They play decent football.

Portsmouth were a good side. Some people hated to admit this during the season. However, the truth in the end is they finished as champions.

It's ok to talk and compliment other teams, but still support Argyle.

And with Luke, Sonny and Graham we had three players in the team of the year, how about saving some sugar for our team!

We/l have. Threkeld, Jervis, Taylor....a number of them have had very good reviews on here.

You aren't, along with many others going to like it, but the truth is Argyle will be at best a top L1/bottom 10 championship club. It's been proved in the 30+ years lve been supporting them. That's our ceiling. Even with the new grandstand that will be our ceiling. We simply can not complete on a financial footing with the top 10 championship clubs. Even if Adams was the best manager we ever had, we still not going to compete unless we have someone behind Argyle like they do at Brighton and Bristol City who plow tens of millions into the football club. Even then, like Bristol City have found you still fighting a relegation battle.

Argyle are unlikely ever to reach the promised land. Or even have sustained success in the championship. We just don't have the money and until we do we have to be realistic. This is the type of club you support and so when good things happen to it like this year you have to maximise the enjoyment out of it. Yet, if you only appreciated anything good in football that was done by Argyle then football would have been very bland, dull and boring except for the odd few years of success. I would of got 8-10 enjoyable years out of 30 from football.

We are a lower league club for a reason. Yes we can dream, but just like Bristol Rovers fans have found you can have owners who promised you the world but actually financially can't match their words of aspirations. We have a tiny chance of getting to the premier league in our lifetime. Personally, l wouldn't be holding out for Argyle bringing you the footballing joy that obviously you will like to see. I'm afraid watching teams like Brighton and experiencing their joy and happiness might be as good as it gets with regards to the premier league.

You might not like what lm saying at all. Yet it's realism and that's is where football is currently heading. Making the gulf even harder to close for clubs like Argyle. If all your football satisfaction is only ever going to be provided by Argyle then l feel you probably going to feel short-changed.

However, we all live in hope and it's that tiny hope that we cling onto.

Again though, l repeat they had Russian benefactor who spent more than money on players than Argyle ever had. Had it not been for him they may if hung around in the championship, like Burton Albion are doing, but would never have been promoted even with Howe.

Argyle, are not even looking to spend money on transfer fees. That's how big the gulf is at the moment. Blissett was the exception, not the rule.

Not sure what any of that has to do with Exeter going up or not, but at least we now understand your ongoing dissatisfaction with Argyle performances over last season. Glad you've accepted we're not on a par with the Chelseas' of the world.

How dare you imagine you are the voice of reason and understanding and everyone else is living in cloud cuckoo land. I fully understand what our limits are and will be. In the context of this discussion and the way it's altered somewhat why do you insist that we are not as deserving as Exeter or Portsmouth to be where we finished. I'll say again, we were 2nd only on goal difference with Portsmouth over 46 games. We were 16 points better off than Exeter during that 46 game season as we have been 15 points or thereabouts better than them each of the last 3 seasons. As for how well we play, we have played some sublime stuff this year and if not every game it shows the level we are all at in league 2. Has Exeter been all singing and dancing during the season? No, so don't pick two televised games and our games against them to decide how much better they are than us. THEY ARE NOT AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FOR 3 SEASONS.

They are going through the exact same thing as we have last season even if they don't accept that. I'll bet, not one single Exwebber has or will ever write an essay on how we're better than them even though it's as obvious as the nose on Tisdale's face. If you are so keen to state what our natural level is, where exactly exactly do you see them, who as you know have never been in the championship looking out as it were?

See l'm not the voice of reason.

What l quoted you above was merely what has happened in my 30 years of supporting Argyle. What l said was where we merely have been and factually what has happened.

As for Exeter natural level, if they reach league one that is their ceiling. Tisdale did well years back and got L1. Problem is financial they can't compete at L1 level.

Unless they keep hold of their better players like Watkins, they will struggle. Tisdale will still play football but it will be difficult to stop Watkins moving, especially when Argyle might lose Carey and Portsmouth lost Enda Stevens. If they do go up, and he can find some free transfer gems and keep their squad in tack they might surprise a few people. However, eventually the financial side of the game catches up with you, just like it does with Argyle and eventually the great players you are replacing for peanuts will eventually see you slip to your natural financial position. Theirs is league 2. Ours is league 1. Simply because the difference in the size of support we get compared to themselves.

Like l said you can call this my opinion. Or you can just look back in the history books. The circle of promotion and relegation from certain leagues is never broken because of our respected financial postions due to how the clubs were/are currently supported.

I apologise if l upset you. I was merely giving a balanced view of how it's been whilst l have been supporting Argyle.

As a number of posters have pointed out this season, the football played at times was very average especially at HP. I always think at L2 you should be able to do basic football. E.g. Send a cross in that beats the man at the number post or pass to a team mate 10 yards away when your under no pressure. Argyle's ball retention this year was very poor at times. People kept saying we need another person up front. Why just have one forward? The problem was though how poor our supply was to that forward. How they had to work off scraps? Let's not forget the last two games against Crewe and Grimsby we didn't function as a team until we started to hoof the ball forward and tried to play off the big man, Blissett. Yet the quality whether it was Taylor or Taylor & Blissett was still quite poor as we didn't open up Crewe or Grimsby with great football, but merely more direct play. Carey cross for Blissett against Crewe was excellent but there were a number of times in both those matches were Argyle wasted opportunities by not passing very well.

As for the football played at premier league is decent but when you consider the millions teams spend on players the product isn't as good as what is made out.

Exactly. Tisdale's achievement is amazing when you think about it. He consistently said that once a few injured players returned the team would pick up, and he was right. A vastly underrated manager if you ask me. I wonder if they win the Playoffs a bigger club will finally come in for him?

When I read "but the truth is Argyle will be at best a top L1/bottom 10 championship club" I hadn't seen that MGM was the author. I was convinced it was either that pop1eye geezer, or the ford hill pompey fan or one of the exeter based pasoti guests. After all your persistent forecasts of "play-offs at best" you should just rejoice at second place, or as I prefer to call it, equal top and top alphabetically. And as for Exeter, I am pleased for them and impressed that after conceding such a late equaliser thaqt they had the balls to get up the other end and snatch a brilliant winner. Purely for financial reasons I would like to see us retain a home fixture against Exeter but then again a weekend in Blackpool will be tempting. Basically, Exeter and Carlisle was a good watch because I wasn't the least bit worried about the result. It just entertained me.
