My "other" team Gillingham took a gamble on appointing Stephen Clemence as manager, his first job in charge. Unlike Argyle this wasn't a forced appointment. It's not working. But Argyle have far more to lose if this appointment is a failure. Every manager has a first club, unfortunately the recruitment process doesn't come with a crystal ball
Gillingham don't have one of the two lowest budgets in their division though which makes a huge difference.

I'm in the 'feel sorry for Foster' camp as well.

Everything has worked against him, Finn leaving, Cundle leaving, and not replacing them is a major problem.

Schumacher has screwed us good and proper. Perhaps a management window would be a good idea for many reasons.

It's his first gig, it isn't working and we are going down. As sure as eggs are eggs.

If Foster doesn’t get us relegated then are the eggs different? Kinder or Easter eggs ??

schuey leaving was so bad for us that's true.however,we have very good players here that are bored out of their skulls with these negative "tactics".i think foster could take us straight down to the conference.

I don't usually post on a Saturday as there is always to much emotion involved but tonight is an exception because the Foster out chant was down right embarrassing and if you think for one minute Simon is going to sack him he isn't we are not that kind of club. I know things are not going well at the moment but surely that's all the more to reason to show our full support as a club we are better than that. I seem to remember last season everybody making fun of the meltdown of Sheff Wed forum are we any better. So come on guys lets show our support.

I feel really sad to see what was once a fabulously exiting team reduced to a listless mess in the space of a few weeks. Yes, we have lost some key players but we still have many talented ones. You don’t become a poor team overnight. It therefore has to be the way they are being led and managed. IF has zero charisma (not his fault) and a very serious manner - frankly, he doesn’t look like a man with a sense of fun. I think our players really thrived with SS in charge mainly because he had both these qualities in abundance. I’ve always been suspicious of any manager who stands like a statue on the touch line, showing no passion or commitment to the cause. This is IF’s approach and I think the players are reduced to having to motivate themselves. I fear the worst.

We had two other candidates that they picked Foster over. Hopefully one or both are still available, and they move fast. Really fast.
It was reported at the time that the final three was Foster, John Eustace and Paul Cook.

Eustace is now at Blackburn and without a win since joining them. Cook, on the other hand, is one point off winning the league with Chesterfield in the National League, which he'll probably get in midweek.

IF that was the final 3 I refuse to believe we’d have picked Foster. I personally wanted someone who’s managed at a decent level before so Eustace would’ve been ok with me, yes I know it’s not worked at Blackburn.

Was very surprised at the amount of people against Paul Cook mind. Done quite wherever he’s been apart from Ipswich who were are a basket case for a few years until they were relegated.

How many times do we hear about 'respect' to the opposition from Foster? Fed up with it. You should be showing no respect. You are in charge of your own destiny, not respecting the opposition. It's desperation speaking.
It’s almost an excuse
