Yeah, they've released a statement saying they are keeping on eye on it all. He played for Somerset last season too.

I think he’ll get the blame over this and get a big ban and fine. While Smith and Warner plus higher members of the Australian cricket team will just get a slap wrist.

Steve Smith has got a fine and a one test ban already, my guess would be the opposite. As the captain he is in charge for 'maintaining the spirit of the game' and I'd say that from the press conference yesterday, Smith decided it and Bancroft as the newbie was peer pressured into it.

i don't think the players who conspired this cheating will play top line cricket again.

I'd love to agree with you but it would be one hell of a statement from Australia to get rid of Smith and Warner especially when you look at their statistics. I can't see Smith ever being captain again but I can't see them getting rid of him.

Why did they feel the need to do it when they have one of the best Test bowling attacks?

They have probably have one of the best bowling attacks, by taking advantage of ball tampering

I wonder if Somerset will tear up the contract of Bancroft for this season?

The Prime Minister has made phone calls to James Sutherland, CEO. I think senior heads could roll. Smith, Warner, Bancroft, lengthy bans. Starc and Lyon involved too so sanctions against them also on the cards.
Talk of abandoning the 4th Test.
The general public, ex players, and the general commentariet are horrified. Think there could be a wholesale clean out and it would be quite justified!!

This series has been horrid with sledging over the top on both sides. Something has to change.

Steve Smith has now step down as captain from his IPL team Rajasthan Royals but will continue to play for them at moment

That contract is worth far too much to him to voluntarily step down, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Royals decide they don't want him.

Ball tampering has been going on for eons!
Faf du Plessis, twice, Philander just recently. Atherton and Trescothic previously. Broad and Anderson 2010 in SA. Others in India and Pakistan.
It appears the New Zealanders are yet to be caught!!! ;)
