I prefer more cream than as a "butter replacement" would provide so for me, jam first.

Why skimp on the cream anyway? Clotted cream has no other purpose in life and once the scones are all gone, it just goes in the bin.

If I were to add both, it'd be jam, then cream. But apologies to my Cornish brethren as clotted cream is minging so wouldn't go anywhere near a scone I was eating. On the rare occasions I have them, I normally have them plain, with neither jam nor cream.

How about Marmite? Not necessarily with clotted cream or jam, mind.

When we were kids we used to go to the Spar shop in Parker Road and they had large trays of clotted cream. We used to buy 2oz which they put in a small polystyrene pot and eat it with our fingers.

Delicious memories

Thunder & Lightning - syrup (or treacle) on bread topped with clotted cream?
Clooted cream on a William's cone from the Fletemoor Road ice cream van?
My Uncle used to come down from that there London and eat a quarter of cream with a teaspoon.
Just tinned fruit cocktail & clotted cream?
Hot sponge pudding custard and cream?

Anyone who has 'leftover' clotted cream is definitely not 'local'!!

(Clooted cream a local StBudo variant ;) )

These are things that you can have with normal cream. You can’t have single cream with scones though. You have clotted cream which is made solely for that purpose ;)

'NORMAL' cream LC? Normal? Your big mistake was to say the abnormal clotted variety can go in the bin. We NEVER throw it away, just eat it as it is man!!

Anyway, jam first, obviously.
