Ashes gone as far as I'm concerned. Apart from 2 or 3 individuals this is a poor England test side.

especially when give them 2 wickets in the first 4 balls, we really have them where we want them :banghead: :banghead:

Hardly 'give them'. Roots ball was pretty unplayable.

The better side won. Oh well at least we have a chance to level the series although the Ashes have gone.

Still on target for my 3-1 prediction.
Hopefully Root and Bayliss will resign at the end of the series. Time for an overhaul of county cricket and less emphasis on the white ball game. Unfortunately I have more chance of a knighthood.

Bayliss is off at end of series anyway.

No guts
No Passion
No determination
No skill
No Ashes
No interest in trying to win.
No interest by the batsmen in scoring 100s
No recognition that failing to score 100 is a failure and should cause shame not indifference.
No recognition that allowing the opposition to score 500 runs in an innings is a failure and should cause shame not indifference.
No pride in playing for your country and NOT letting it down.

Too much emphasis on playing some game where the teams wear coloured clothes and the game is over in 1/2 a day - whatever it is, it isn't cricket.

To me the fact that the ENGLAND team amassed ONE more run in two innings than they allowed Australia to get in ONE innings should be a source of complete and abject SHAME for the England players. Sadly Root obviously doesn't think so as he has failed to fall on his sword.

My reply to thst would be;
No understanding of the game on your part. One defeat and throw all your toys out of the pram.

Congratulations Australia on retaining the Ashes, virtually without an opener.
Time for Warner to be rested. Starc a little disappointing but no doubt about Smith and Cummings, two greats of the game.
As Bernie states, England need a complete reset of the game. To much emphasis on the short form. Bit that way here in Oz also.
Can England fire up and draw the series or will it be 3 - 1 to the visitors. Think I favour Bernie’s prediction!
