I don't follow the conventional wisdom that most leavers are unintelligent. Many hold sincere and thought-through views which we must respect, even if I think they are misguided.
However, what is clear from the many vox pop TV interviews we see, is that most voters are incapable or unwilling to think through the consequences of leaving, hence the constant reaction of 'just get it done'. The Radio 4 feedback programme highlighted how many listeners and viewers are so fed up with the subject that they just want it done and dusted.
Given the extreme consequences of leaving the EU, one has to assume this is simply a reflection of the short attention span most voters are willing to give national issues, because they're not prepared to think through the what's at stake here. Sadly this government is planning to capitalise on this unwillingness to engage, by rushing through a bill because they know a majority just wants it 'over and done with'.
I'm prepared to be proven wrong, and I invite any leaver to give me one single benefit to the country of leaving the largest market for our goods and services.
