Lockdown frm January I'm sure. They've lost control again (as shown by the mass exodus from London on the weekend).

The public cannot be relied upon to be sensible, those of us following the rules have had our year ruined by those who don't care and they aren't changing.

Not a fan of this "numbers in the first lockdown were estimated to be higher than now but testing was limited" rubbish, its giving those who don't care about others an excuse.

Firm lockdown, police the streets, get the military involved and start focusing testing and vaccinations to clear "green zones".

In 2 weeks all of Cornwall could be tested, cases isolated then move onto Devon, bit by bit clearing the country.

Ah yes sounds so easy!

I know it's almost a dream for that, but it's better than this constant meander between soft "lockdowns" and peaks.

Something radical needs to be done to get a grip on this otherwise it'll go well into 2022

Flights to and from South Africa have now been halted.

Hang on. I can't walk up the local pub for a pint wearing a mask and keeping distance but I could go to Heathrow and fly to and from South Africa??!!??

Or I could fly but I can't go to Heathrow?

7/1/21.

Manchester City Women's game cancelled after 4 players tested positive after a trip to Dubai. A trip sanctioned by the Club.
Local pub, café, hairdressers still closed here in Downtown BA. Can I go get a haircut in Dubai?

So Crawley played Leeds yesterday in Crawley? Which is in Sussex? I presume the Leeds players having been in close contact with the Crawley players (not close enough maybe?) then all went home to Leeds? Thence to their families? Various and disparate?

So BBC interviewed two Crawley players one being a 'celebrity' who I'd never heard of?

Anyway he was interviewed from his home in Essex, the other Crawley player was interviewed from his home in Bristol. I presume other Crawley players went home to various and disparate homes? Maybe a few may live in Sussex?

Just to sugar the pill, I've just seen Boris in Bristol watching people have jabs in Bristol. So that would be a driven visit? Helicopter? So driver, pilot? Press Secretary? Support Staff? Security Guards?

Anyway, I'm not going up the local Co-op ... doing my bit!! :scarf:

Boris was challenged by one of the journos yesterday as to why he went to Brizzle rather than visit the vaccination hub at the ExCel. All BoJo did was congratulate the journalist for asking the question we should all be asking ourselves (i.e. do we need to travel) and then mumbled about travelling being part of his job - but still didn't explain *why* he went to Bristol.

Cressida Dick said (paraphrase): If people are breaching the Regulations, clearly in breach and everyone should know by now what the Regs are, my officers will act.

When asked about Boris the Barmy Biker (one of The Lairy Bikers), she said (paraphrase): He doesn't appear to have breached the Regs but we need more clarification and guidance.

So, Cressy, I should know the Regs but the Commissioner of Police and the PM may need more info??

Just returned from a yomp around the local lanes. On the way back, two 20 something young ladies chatting on the other side of the road (thankfully).

One says "I'm asymptomatic".
"Shouldn't you be self-isolating?" asks the other.
"Yeah, probably should be" answers the first.

I beat a retreat.

People - that's the problem.
