Status Quo - Plymouth Guildhall (1973, my first gig)
Queen - Plymouth
Genesis - Plymouth
Sparks - big tent in Central Park
Pink Floyd - several times
Uriah Heep -Plymouth
Def Leppard and Whitesnake at Genting Arena 2015
Dolly Parton - Nashville (she was terrific)
Chuck Berry - Buxton
Metallica - Download

Many more but these stand out as each has particularly fond memories.

I saw Status Quo at the Guildhall, probably a year or two before the one you mentioned. There were only about 150 people there. So few in fact that one of the band asked that everyone come down to the front two rows to create some kind of atmosphere. Of course at this time they were not well known (they may have just released Pictures of Matchstick Men).
Anyway, possibly the gig you referred to, but the next time they appeared at the Guildhall, the poster said "back by popular demand" :funny:

Following on from the Greatest Albums thread, I wondered what Pasoti's greatest ever gigs were. Some quite understandably said it was difficult to single out just one greatest album, so what about listing the best 5 live gigs you ever attended. These are mine:-

1. Led Zeppelin Southampton Gaumont Jan 1973. One and only time I saw them. Had ticket for Sheffield earlier in the month, but my ship arrived back from the Far East a couple of days late. Grrrr.

2. Genesis (Gabriel era) Portsmouth Guildhall October 72 / Genesis (Collins era) Southampton Gaumont April 80. The latter was the best sound I ever heard at a live gig.

3. Michael Jackson Bad tour Wembley. Ex wife’s thing really, but what an awesome experience. Including a wardrobe malfunction by support act Kim Wilde who actually lost support! Sat next to John Barnes and his missus on the tube afterwards.

4. The Who, either Hampden or Celtic Park June 76.

5. Any Richard Hawley gig. Awesome live AND he’s an Owl!

Prodigy at Warehouse Plymouth - Saturday 4th October 1991

Charley Says was in the charts and this was an awesome set.

Apologies - I didn’t know about the OP.

I see a few mentioned the good old Cornwall Coliseum. What a shame Cornwall doesn’t have a decent gig venue anymore. The West Country as a whole is not well served for live gigs, with the Pavilions being the biggest we’ve got. Although some of the best gigs Ive seen were in smaller venues. The Southampton Gaumont is an old theatre with velvet curtains and private boxes etc. When I saw Genesis there, the sound was like a massive high end HIFI. Unbelievable.

Led Zeppelin made it rock to its foundations though.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the Guildhall in the summer of 1970. Their first gig, ending with Nutrocker. My first big gig and definitely one of my top ten.

From that era was Sandy Denny at something called the Plymouth Folk Club near Bretonside, I seem to remember.

Free and Yes concerts at the Guildhall were the ones I saved my pocket money for.

More recently -

Patti Smith - Cardiff Millennium Centre, 2018

Roger Waters - Birmingham, 2018

Leonard Cohen - Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, 2013

Fleetwood Mac - O2 London, 2015

Michael Kiwanuka, Colston Hall, Bristol, 2017

Sharon van Etten, SWX, Bristol, 2019

Beth Hart, Royal Albert Hall, 2018

And I'll never forget Manic Street Preachers just before Wales/Italy game 2002 - A Design for Life and Bellamy's winner.

All of my favourite gigs have been at smaller venues. Yes it’s cool seeing bands ‘make it’ and have larger production costs at arenas/stadiums etc, but nothing beats having a warm beer in a sweaty s***hole singing your heart out.

Memories that still give me goosebumps:

First time seeing Parkway Drive (Bristol academy, 2010)

Funeral for a Friend at Hall for Cornwall in May 2004. Had a small band called My Chemical Romance supporting along with The Bled and 36 Crazyfists. Relatively tiny venue just before (screa)emo blew up.

Sleigh Bells - Electric Ball room Camden, 2018. Simply an incredible performance.
Whether you believe that God created you for a purpose, or that the world is governed by blind chance, everything in life is a gift at its core; we are beggars all.

The National at Bristol O2 in 2010 I think it was, on the High Violet tour. Sweaty, packed venue. Brilliant gig. A year later they were headlining festivals.

Some young lad was handing out flyers for Franz Ferdinand on the way in. He went to hand one to me, then withdrew it and said, 'Sorry mate, you’re a bit old for them'. Could have punched his lights out! :funny:

Joe Jackson at Real Madrid Sports Palace
Hank Wangford at London Barbican
Porrij at The Plume of Feathers!
Spandau Ballet, Rockodromo,Madrid (500ptas entrance and we blagged our way into their private party after the concert)

Many friends seem to envy my attendance at a mega concert at the Bernabeu which featured Big Audio Dynamite, UB40, The Pretenders and U2. They might be right but I imbibed the generous spirits measures too much and can’t remember anything about it.
