Surprised nobody has already commented on this yet.

A very powerful BBC drama (based on one man's experience) on how the Home Office scheme to get residents of this country for 50 years or more to prove their right to be here was handled. The Windrush scandal.

Please watch it, although it's harrowing when you think you live in a country with certain values. Seeing a man sent to a detention centre and being told he was about to be deported having lived in London since the 1960s.

Timing of this has clashed with the recent BLM controversy, but with the vast majority of people still awaiting compensation from the UK government maybe that will help the wheels move a little quicker.

Watched it.
Unfortunately, as harrowing as it was to see what a sh1tty, inward, bitter little racist state we are laid bare, and as much as there will be people saying how awfully those people were treated, it wont stop people voting for Boris 'Picanninies, watermelon smiles' Johnson, a vile person who, amongst his many flaws, espouses racist views.

Watched it, and I was ashamed to be British last night.

The main person at fault with this was Theresa May, she got off scotfree.

I also watched it last night and was lost for words as to how low and embarrassed I felt, that our countrys government could cause so much misery to a hard working law abiding individual and his family, educated and living in this country for over 50 years, due to the colour of his skin and that he couldn't find all his paperwork.

When will we give these poor people a break.

I personally know someone who set up Project Windrush. I’m sure he could never have imagined anything quite so disgraceful. It says a lot about our country that we are fixated about effing statues and take our eyes off what’s happening to real people now. Interesting at the end of the programme when they stated how many had received compensation. It was miniscual amount.

Exactly, the scandal is STILL going on, with the total lack of deserved compensation.
