It's a place-name. It's changed it's name in the past, and will undoubtedly change again in the future, but that won't airbrush history. A site changing it's name (or throwing a statue into the water) is as much part of history (in a linear time perspective) as the moments it commemorates or recognises.

Great result, and a worthy recipient of such an honour.

I've got no problem "airbrushing" the history of the early 1980s, when this square was previously re-named.
