Until humans treat animals with respect, then this is the future.

Agreed.

Sars Mers Ebola and other killer virus outbreaks all originated via animals, contamination occurring across species

I read of a scientist going skitz about farmed chickens, reckons we are all at risk of a virus that would kill 50% of humanity, collapsing civilization as we know it. ( he is vegan mind, so maybe biased )

The Indonesian authorities did well to contain another lethal poultry outbreak ( by killing all of Indonesia's chickens if I recall correctly.)

That one killed 1 in 4 contaminated humans but was contained early. What if they failed to contain it ?

Next outbreak is when not if...so how many will it kill ? And if we have to do another lockdown the world goes bankrupt.

Should not have locked down the country for cov 19 in my own opinion, should have saved that for when we get hit by a more lethal outbreak. When not if.

Well BG, it has been a hard time for all those affected by virus or bereavement and I acknowledge that but tihing is we have shot all our bullets, so we will be in a terrible place when a more serious virus occurs.

Look at history, plague, small pox, turburculosis, hong kong flu, russian flu,( killed a million ) measles, ebola, hiv, polio, spanish flu ,sars, mers, they keep on coming and with increasing rapidity as we are living on an evermore crowded planet, consuming more animals, destroying ever more natural habitat.

In the 60's Hong Kong flue kill 68000 brits, life went on as normal for the majority.

Sweden did not bother having a cv 19 lock down. They were told by our scientists they would have 90 thousand dead by July. Their death toll is 5500 give or take. Smaller population than the UK obviously.

The average age of UK fatalities has been 80, I heard ( james ferguson I think ) say two thirds of the deceased would have died this year anyway.

I could go on but its just my opinion that we are now in a bad place when the next pandemic hits, I realise plenty would disagree with what I am saying.
