Along with Washinton's Gridiron team and Cleveland's Baseball team, there is now a call for Exeter's Rugby team to change name.

Maybe the EFL club base in Plymouth should change its name as it’s offensive to the Scottish who were treated awfully by the English.

Better still, all privileged white people should kill themselves to atone for the awful way we all behaved hundreds of years ago.

You missed the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.

I haven't seen any reports about campaigns to get them to change!

Have noted the comment on Argyle and connections with Argyll Scotland note the different spelling I may be Ronge oops wrong but I believe, the Greens spelling of ARGYLE ,came from the street “Argyle Street” where the first football Club meeting was held

I have. Along with renaming the Kansas City Chief's home-ground ('Arrowhead Stadium').

There is a campaign over here for the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club to change their name as it is offensive and outdated.

Inuk is enough!!

I get it, I really do but when you do some research you find that most terms/descriptions become 'offensive' because they were used in an offensive way by very offensive people. Banning the word and it's use is fine but offensive racist people won't go away, they'll keep on using the word (now weaponised) or find a more offensive word!

Not a solution I know but it is frustrating to me when historic words and usage are 'stolen' by bigots!!

There were moves afoot in NZ last year, after the massacres at the two mosques in Christchurch, for the Crusaders to be renamed.

Basically, the general response was, not to put too fine a point on it...f*** off!

This year, because it seems the only thing on people's minds...NOT...is to change the name of Waikato Chiefs in the Super Rugby!

Strangely enough, the response has been pretty much the same!
There is no argument to equal a happy smile!

You learn from history.

Changing names, dosent change the history.

Who says the word Chiefs upsets the indiginous people of America? Probably the press!
