Similar in this country, a government knee deep in corruption, highest deaths in Europe and worst economic damage of any developed country and the Brexit con exposed and yet the polls say the Tory will win the Hartlepool by-election for the first time in 60 years. I heard a woman in Hartlepool say she couldn't trust Labour on reversing Brexit, even though Starmer has said there's no going back and we can now see it was built on a pack of lies. ie no border in the Irish Sea, less red tape, won't affect Brits status living in the EU, trade wont be hit, fishing, we'll still have benefits of the single market etc etc. And if it was about controlling immigration, well non EU immigration has more than trebled in the last 4 years 90k to 300k not one person had to be let in. And what new laws have been passed or are planned that we couldn't pass as an EU member? None. Zero.
And I'm not a lefty, go far enough to the right or left and you end up in the same place, totalitarianism, theres so much in common with Bolsonaro, Modi USA Trump, and Russia, China and N Korea. (I'm not sure N Korea is extreme left or right but it doesn't matter its the same thing.) The world's going backwards, rant over

Maybe I was being a bit too subtle, but I wrote social injustice warriors.
