Listen to all of that stuff at various times, and lots more besides. Recently became reacquainted with the four Talking Heads albums from ‘79 to I think ‘83. What a ground breaking band they were, hear that sound, and late 70’s Bowie, running through the LCD Soundsystem stuff. It doesn’t suffer for it.
Love Talking Heads too, especially Fear of Music: that for me is their stand-out album.
Have been playing David Byrne "American Utopia" all week. It got some good reviews BUT I dunno, I am a little disappointed, a couple of good tracks does not make a great album.
Still love Talking Heads, ALL of their albums have at least a couple of brilliant tracks on each. Byrne has made some enjoyable solo albums in Rei Momo in particular and has come up with some very interesting collaborations "My life in the bush of ghosts" with Brian Eno is a seriously weird one. (Music set to a recording of an exorcism an interesting listen at the very least)
