The Republicans know he is guilty, but refused to vote for it.
The Democrats know it.
The USA public know it.
Everybody knows it.
The world knows it.
But 51 Republicans decided to vote for themselves and their repugnant party.
Chill out - as long as the US economy booms, you will probably have another 4 years of moaning
The Ukrainian oil video evidence I saw on Biden and son, by the Republican Management team at the Impeachment, leads me to believe the Democrats are a bunch of crooks and no better. The Democrats will probably end up with Bloomberg, then it will be billionaire v billionaire and my money is on Trump.
Shows how corrupt the USA politics are.
Wasn’t there somebody going to ‘drain the swamp’.
Oh, that somebody is now the swamp.
There is a saying ‘Power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely.’
And the quote continues: "Great men are almost always bad men." (Not that I consider Donald Trump to be great by any imaginable yardstick.)
(At this juncture I must bring up a pet peeve of mine. Just because someone once said something that many people have since repeated, often inaccurately or incompletely, it doesn't make it somehow an unassailable truth set in stone. It's still just someone's opinion, and people always cherry-pick those putative pearls of wisdom that best suit their own ends.)
You're beyond help if you "saw the Ukrainian oil evidence" and believed a word they said. They lied in the Senate, right in front of the Chief Justice, as can easily be proven many times over - and the Chief Justice did absolutely nothing about it.
Either you lack sufficient knowledge of the situation and the critical faculties to discern flagrant lies when you hear them, or you'd already decided in advance what you wanted to hear and to believe, just like the craven GOP senators and those many millions who have happily embraced the Cult of Trump, which I believe is now almost certain to bring about the downfall of America as we've always known it.
It's often struck me that people who buy into authoritarian and racist ideolologies, as all Trump's supporters and enablers in America have done (if you can ascribe anything that Trump thinks or does to any kind of "ideolgy" at all), only do so because they believe they're going to be, and to remain, on what they consider to be the winning side - the Germans rather than the Jews, if you will. It will be interesting to see how long it takes various Trump-supporting subgroups who currently consider themselves safe, and superior, to find themselves something of an underclass in the brave new world that the Senate has just unleashed.
Edited to add: I should also have pointed out that everything about the Bidens in the Senate was totally irrelevant to the trial; but of course it had the desired effect of throwing up a huge smoke screen. Again, if you don't know why that is, you need to find out far more before you can expect your comments to be taken seriously.
