This is just gosh-durned funny, and guaranteed to get up The Donald's nose:

As far as I'm aware, it's only the second video released by The Lincoln Project, a group of former Republican strategist never-Trumpers. The first was this one, a brilliant inversion of that nauseating "Morning in America" Reagan ad from the 80s.

Oh my, I think you're suggesting that you actually believe something that Kayleigh McEnany says. Would that be right?

Serious question for ninjamissile and a few others: when are you going to let it go? You don't have to do it publicly.

At least people like Isondil have had the sense just to stop posting.

Sorry, not sure what I'm supposed to be letting go of. I can't abide Trump. But I dislike lefties even more.

That lady on the earlier video, I hadn't seen or heard of her until about an hour ago. I don't know whether to believe her or not to be frank, but I'd take her word over many of the people that post here.

This is another matter, rather like the USPS stuff I referenced the other week, that can too easily slip under the radar, especially in the lunatic asylum that is Trump's America. It's also closely related to it.

Republican National Committee sues California to halt vote-by-mail for November general election

We already know that Trump is seriously down on postal voting because he pretends to believe that it leads to massive fraud - except that he's already said the quiet part out loud, namely that the real reason he fears it is that it tends to lead to more Democrat votes. (I can't pull up the reference in short order, but a month or two ago he said something like "The Republicans would never win another election!" if widespread postal voting were allowed.)

The GOP themselves, some of whom are slightly more canny and subtle political operators than their Dear Leader, have always done it on the quiet(ish), as part of their massive voter suppression drive carried out over the decades. Now, though, they're pretty much saying the same thing as Trump, out in the open: they're pretending that postal voting is somehow unconstitutional and fraudulent, and this is just the warm-up to the voter suppression and the deligitimisation of the November election - assuming that the election takes place at all, and I say again that I'm still far from convinced that it will.

I'm pleased to see that Twitter, under huge pressure, has at least grown sufficient backbone to tag one of Trump's lies as requiring a fact check - then linking to some actual facts.

Oh so predictably, Trump tweeted (yes, tweeted) accusing Twitter of - get this - interfering in the November election. His complete lack of anything passing for shame or self-awareness is almost admirable.

He also accused them of stifling free speech because, in common with most Americans, he erroneously believes that the US Constitution, including the first amendment regarding free speech, applies to private companies. In truth, mega corporations like Twitter and Facebook could ban any user and delete any content they felt like, and not even have to give a reason why. They don't, of course, because their bottom lines rely heavily on hate, lies and propaganda masquerading as free speech, and they know their premises would probably be bombed into rubble by "patriots" if they banned the orange ogre from their platforms.

Twitter really ramping it up now - they've attached a disclaimer on one of Trump's latest tweets saying that it glorifies violence.

I think Trump's knee-jerk executive order could backfire on him bigly. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, "the 26 words that created the internet," basically made said internet the horror show that it is today, thanks in no small part to Trump himself.

Brief explanation here.

For those who may have missed US comedian Sarah Cooper's hilarious Trump lip synchs that show up just what an utter dolt the man is simply by dropping his words into a completely different context (and providing some brilliant facial expressions), here are two compilations:

MUST WATCH! as I believe I'm supposed to type here.

Funny thing about section 230 is that the Americans wanted to put the provisions of that section into any potential post-Brexit trade deal between the UK and the US, but senior members of the British Government were pushing against that because we are looking at ways of regulating social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
