That's a genuine risk, and they do have an achilles heel - the all-American (invariably Caucasian) blue-collar worker. Modern Democrats are too isolated in their Washington bubble and, for many years, just don't "get" their struggles. Then Trump turns up and says "I hear you: I'll protect your jobs and stop work going outside of the US." The blue-collar workers aren't interested in the struggles of the BLM, and for the most part don't see evidence of police brutality or racism in their small mid-west towns and cities. The Biden/Harris ticket may well prove popular and reach out to the "suburban housewife" and ethnic groups, but unless they work out how to crack that blue-collar nut they'll struggle in November.
