According to this delusional government such things just don't matter ..... Michael Gove stood up in parliament and declared the UK could "do better" without joint law enforcement. Seriously - he did. I urge you to watch this if you don't believe me - and why would you believe what is patently ludicrous nonsense without hearing it from the horse's mouth. This was his answer to Theresa May, who looked genuinely shocked & incredulous and was then clearly seen mouthing "utter nonsense".
This is the really scary thing. It's totally delusional dogma completely divorced from reality. If you believe Brexit will be a good thing "in the long run" - well fair enough - I disagree but it's a matter of opinion. But what I cannot get my head around for a nanosecond - and surely even Brexit supporters can see this - is why, oh why, did Boris turn down the EU's offer to prolong the transition period in light of the impact of Covid?
We're heading towards either a complete no-deal or a very thin deal at the hard Brexit end of the spectrum - and this comes into effect during a global pandemic and despite the mountain of evidence that we are pitifully unprepared. Ask any small business owner who deals with the EU how much information has been made available to them about what they need to do .....then run for cover as they explode. (I dare not ask a close friend of mine any more or mention the B-word to him because his small business imports aluminium castings from Spain). We are already facing mounting backlog of problems at ports because of Covid - empty containers in the wrong place etc.etc. So why not let this clear first before embarking on what even Brexit supporters accept will be a change that will causes significant disruption ?? But - oh No! ....... Boris knows best
