Not sure you really know what is going on - this was just a referendum, it is up to the elected government to make a plan and implement the peoples will.

True, but the Leave camp were advocating this course and I guess we must hope & presume they've been thinking strategically enough to be ready for the very obvious next step. As the article says, our chances of a decent trade deal with the EU are very much weaker than they seemed to be saying during the campaign.

Have the media deliberately selected imbeciles to interview about why they have voted to leave, not one I have heard has a reason of substance for their decision.

Boris? Think?

His only thought was to pick the opposite side to Dave so he could knife him in the back.

This democratic process got more people to turn out than the general election.

People are fed up of politics. The three parties don't seem to stand for anything different. New Labour was just a PR stunt to supposedly appeal to more people in the UK.

The EU referendum had the leaders of the Tories and Labour deciding to remain. Accept they couldn't, for the good of the UK, get around the table and produce a campaign which would have smashed the "leave" vote. Instead they stood on their own, doing their own thing watching their own parties tear itself apart as it couldn't decide whether to stay in Europe or not. Not wonder the UK is a mess. Until Politian's grow up and actually work together for the better cause of the UK then how can you expect the British public to believe in systems they are trying to govern us under.

I don't think its a sad day at all for the UK. I think however its a huge wake up call to how we govern ourselves. Its not working the way we run this country. People don't turn up to vote anymore because they don't believe these parties that are trying to represent them. Years of false dawns. False promises.

More people got out to vote yesterday because it was their chance to change things in the UK. Some might not like it but some people probably are thinking things couldn't carry on either the way we were being govern, not just from our parliament but from a European one as well.

The EU floodgates have opened after years of neglecting the UK dam the Politian's thought would hold back the floods.

This with bells on, people are bored of the same old bol**cks! Something has to change and change fast!

Thanks for the patronising remark. You voted leave and I'm the one who doesn't know what is going on?

The people's will is for Boris' promises to happen. e.g. Free trade with control on immigration from Europe. Dream on.

The EU will tell us, EEA or nothing. Simple as that.

I can put money on down the bookies that within 2 years, EEA will take effect. It will mean all directives on Trade and products will remain, but things like the fisheries policy and other similar powers will be taken back.

It also means nothing will change on Freedom of movement. Parliament will vote on this remember, but its not the end of the world for those opposing Freedom of movement.

Getting EEA ratified in the interim period will give us a bit more breathing space. From that point, a new bespoke agreement can be thrashed out over a number of years, with the longer term view of controlling our borders while keeping a FTA.

The Majority of Parliament would reject proposals to end Freedom of Movement and trade with WTO rules. As we are already seeing the economy would crash big time, and the pound may well drop below $1.00 = £1.00. Nobody in the current administration would have the balls to do that. Remember that the ballot paper said nothing against ending Free Trade or Freedom of Movement.

However, that would give UKIP a huge mandate when another General Election happens, but FPTP would limit the amount of seats that they gain.

Eventually in 5-10 years down the line with EEA, the markets will stabilise, the EU likely to morph into a Superstate or fall apart, with out negotiators drawing up several Free Trade proposals, then exiting the EEA once things are more stable and we are better prepared to go it alone. At that point, we will be able to restrict Freedom of movement.

The EEA agreement also means we have no veto on any countries joining the EU but will have to accept free movement of labour.

And as I've said, free movement of labour goes hand-in-hand with access to the single market. It will have to be the price the UK will have to pay.

What's the bet the promise that Cornwall will also find out the promise that they wouldn't lose out the equivalent of their EU funding was also wrong?

Well, fancy that!

Cornwall wanted guarantees it wouldn't lose £60m EU funding after Brexit, but the Government turned it down

The best way to guarantee EU Funding is to stay in the EU. If you leave the EU you don't get EU Funding. Cornwall is not oop North lah or in the South East dontcha know.
Tories don't give a schiit about the SW except when Cameron came down here to be filmed eating a flake before going off on his real holiday.

Not rocket science is it (won't get that at Newquay either).

Dupes!
