An unbelievable collapse in form. Should still make the playoffs but such a shame after being so far in front earlier in the season.

Massive 3 points for Torquay tonight. Joint second though they have played a game more than Sutton, and only a point behind Hartlepool who Torquay have 2 games in hand on. Sutton play Hartlepool second to last game of the season so it really could go down to the wire .

Torquay winner after 81 minutes, assisted by Adam Randell. Law came on as sub in 88th minute.
Great to see Torquay getting back to winning ways. Hopefully see them back in the football league for next season.

First place automatically promoted.

In May 2017, the National League proposed a revamp in the play-offs for all three divisions. Under the new system, the number of teams playing for promotion was increased to six. The clubs finishing second and third automatically proceed to a semi-final at their home ground, while the clubs in fourth and fifth stage respective qualifying round ties against the teams finishing seventh and sixth. The winners of those matches then complete the semi-final line up.[7] These proposals were approved at the National League's annual general meeting on 10 June

Are any of those games you mention over two home and away legs?

The play-off format in the National League changed for the 2017-18 season to allow teams finishing in sixth and seventh to compete with two-legged semi-finals removed in favour of one off matches and an eliminator round.

Eliminator round matches: fourth v seventh and fifth v sixth

The first round of play-off matches will see the sides finishing fourth to seventh compete with the highest ranked team playing at home in front of a limited crowd.

These matches will take place the weekend of Saturday, June 5 with both matches being shown live on BT Sport.

The fixture dates remain flexible based on the logistics of the BT Sport schedule. Specific times and dates will be ratified once the teams competing have been confirmed.

Semi-final matches: second v winner of fifth v sixth eliminator round match and third v winner of fourth v seventh eliminator round match

The semi-final matches will introduce the sides finishing second and third as they host the winners of the eliminator round matches for a place in the play-off final.

These fixtures are set to take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 12 and will be broadcast live on BT Sport. As with the previous round, fixtures remain flexible based on the BT Sport schedule.

Final match: Semi-final winner v Semi-final winner

The National League play-off final is set to take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 19 according to the National League.

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport with the winners going on the secure a place in the EFL for the 2021-22 season.

Just noticed that Torquay’s National League season doesn’t finish until 29th May.
Long season for Adam Randell.

Another late Torquay win tonight; 2-1 with Adam Randell providing assists for both goals and they are top of the league with 6 games to play.

But Torquay unlike us only have to play 42 league games.
