So, a Manager signs Wylde as a known wide player/winger. He then decides to play a system that doesn't suit Gregg who he describes as a 'natural winger'.
Wee Stevie Lawless takes his chance to play the 'wide' role in the 'non natural winger' formation.
The manager then signs another 'wide' player on loan from Sheff Weds. This loan seems to be based on the fact that he often played against the Sheff Weds Manager and likes him! He signed the loanee because he needs pace out wide but Wylde can't get a game in that system?

If you were the Livingston chairman would you be asking for the receipts as to what you have spent on Gregg Wylde and maybe asking the Manager why he signed him?

Football seems to be an area of work where you can make mistakes and just shrug them off. Most of us who make mistakes at work get a good rollicking for it!!

Mad ain't it?

Of course, when DA re-signed Gregg from Millwall it was similarly to play in a team that didn't use out and out wingers.

Gave him a go as a LB when Sawyer was injured then moved him on again. At least Gregg got another club, as far as I know the other out and out winger DA signed, Ainsworth ,who got even less playing time for us is still looking for a contract. Is that right or has he been snapped up during summer?

Wylde wasn't a bad player at all.

It wouldn't be a bad bit of business if we picked him as a backup for McFadzean. Sure, McFadzean's current role involves a lot more defensive work than Wylde is probably used too, but he most likely could cover the same going forward.

But I wouldn't be surprised if another Club takes him up with the guarantee of first team football more frequently.

That's a good shout for Wylde as a wing-back, he did play as a left-back for us in two games.
Wingers are a dying breed in the modern game, the wide positions are now either wing backs, strikers playing wide in a front three or the old fashioned inside midfielder.

Wylde being a free agent before the window closed should help him find a club.
