Reading that story why is it an automatic nine-point deduction. Do the Premier and Football leagues have different penalties?

It might be harsh on Pompey fans, but in the long run it may be good for football to have some high profile casualities.

Don't know for sure, but could it be because the Premier league has less clubs than the CCC and therefore play less matches?

Not looking good for the 'sick man of the family'.
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

It's not looking good for Portsmouth. I read in the DT today that Sol Campbell is seeking monies he claims he is owed.

Its looking more and more like administration for them HMRC want their money and so do Udinese (and Sol Campell).

It does beg some questions though:-

How can you owe 4M to someone you bought something off in 2007 - why didn't Udinese want their money before now? No other business could run like that just not paying their creditors for so long.

Will they still get the parachute payments? - would be very unfair if they did.

What happens if they are still in the FA Cup - do they get kicked out or is it OK to go into administration in that competition?

They are in deep trouble, the players they have left are not really worth that much i just do not see how they can get out of the mess they are in.
