Converted from full-back to striker.

Wonder if Sawyer and McNamee would make a good front 2? :)

You could have got quite a long way in the competition knocking out teams that hadn't transgressed with your players that you shouldn't have had buying and paying for them with money you could never pay back.

Now they have a big pay day against Aston Villa - wonder if they will have to pay their creditors with it?

Might not be as big as you imagine. The tickets are £15 and £20 for adults. Also factor in the percentage that Villa will take out of the game.

If its on tv then they will rake in a bit more though.

So which Palace players that have taken them to the fifth round were outragous buys?

Alan Lee is probably the most expensive but he is hardly more than a Championship clogger. None of the squad can be truly described as Premier League quality apart from potentially Victor Moses who has now left.

Moses cost them nothing and came through the youth set up as have other youngsters. Ambrose came on a free, Danns, Davies, McCarthy, Ertl and Derry were bargains and Butterfield, Speroni and Lawrence have been there for years.

Palace may well have got their finances all wrong and be suffering for past mistakes such as Kuqi but the current squad has not been built on dodgy financing.

The one thing that I can't get my head around is that two thirds of the £30M debt is owed to the man who is the sole owner of the club, Simon Jordan. Does this mean that Chelsea are likewise in massive debt because they owe to Roman Abramovic?

Not much out of the present squad LC but you have brought back memories of Ismael, Gabbiadini, Kennedy, Kuqi, Akinbiyi, Macken, Ward :) :)

All poor signings by past management. Simon Jordan gave people like Iain Dowie, Trevor Francis and Peter Taylor too much licence to spend his money. His approach of not questioning his managers' choices of new personnel and saying "if that's who you want, I'll back you even if I already have an opinion of the guy" has come along and bitten his backside.

Ten points don't get docked from the records back then but come off now and become a disappointment for the current squad and manager who have not in no way created the situation.

There aren't many of the team looking at the table and saying that we're just 6 points above Argyle, but more like thinking, we're just 12 points off the play-offs.

Palace have an average squad but are bouyed right now with a togetherness that only a situation like this can muster. And who better to have leading them right now than Neil Warnock?

Yes, like most clubs, most of the debt is to the "owners".

There are a couple of exceptions; Man Utd who borrowed £650Million (now £710M) to allow the Glazers to purchase ownership... :?

Or Hearts, who's owner also owns the bank that lent the money.... :?
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?
