If portsmouth are wound up this afternoon could we possibly benefit from having one less relegation place?

Surely teams would have to fill the places all the way up the league, could we get that lucky?????

This did occur to me.

With only 2 coming down and three going up, there would presumably only be 2 relegated from the CCC.

Since we're a long way of third bottom at the moment things have to improve considerably before even this becomes an option.

No we would still go down because we show no signs of finishing above 23rd anyway.

Didn't Torquay finish bottom of the Football League a few years back yet ended up staying in the division as the winner of the Conference didn't have the adequate facilities?
Yeah well, that's just, ya know, like, your opinion, man.

Yeh, happened several times. That was back when only 1 team went between the two leagues.

So the precedent is there then but i fear Pompey will be bought out again to avoid them going into liquidation.

If Pompey don't resolve the situation by next week..
Will they go into administration? Or be 'wound up'?

Whats the difference?

I've been told

administration means loss of points

'wound up' means cease to exsist

Going into administration is when you bring in people (administrators) to try and save the club, much like what there current owner is doing now. If they don't or can't do that then they will be forced to be wound up by the courtsas the money they owe is so large they no longer have enough to continue trading. Maybe I did remember something from GCSE business studies!

Interesting that they say the company is trading whilst insolvent. Isn't that what Palace are doing now?
