I don't think this is an April fool. If it is true there is an irony that but for Liverpool fielding a weakened side (10 changes) against Fulham a few years ago in the week before the CL Fulham would have disappeared without trace and would be down with Luton now.
Fulham survived that season by 1 point and their only win in their last 13 games was the 1-0 home win against Liverpool.
I don't think West Ham have a case (they stayed up by breaking league rules after all). Are they saying that had they been in Fulham's position in a European Quarter Final they would have played a full strength side at Hull in a meaningless fixture for them in the same week?
Surely a manager can chose any of his first team squad for any game the big 4 do it all the time.
