Of course I was referring to QPR's attacking players. After all, there are plenty and they're all considered quality. Yet Mackie is outshining them all. And anyone who still thinks he can't finish is finding it harder by each passing day to defend their argument.

My point stands, tactics dictate. Trigger was an attacker but his instructions would certainly not have been the same of those that were given to Marino Keith.

His finishing has improved, I said that so that comment clearly isn't aimed at me.

As the original poster, a delighted QPR fan, pointed out - Mackie has played in a variety of attacking roles for them already. And he's scored in all of them. Whether out wide or central. So that kind of dismisses your tenuous argument about tactics Mario. He can't believe his luck that such a versatile attacker has been sold to them so cheaply.

There's far more to tactics than play wide or play central

.... the point being that Mackie isn't just in the team to score goals. Never has been, never will be. He offers far far more than that. If you couldn't see that whilst he was at Argyle I can't really help.

Oh, and thanks for the education regarding football tactics.

will always admire him for his hardworking attitude. problem is. if you don't work hard you get called a lazy git eg. BWP. If you run your socks off all game, you get called a headless chicken eg Mackie.

Shocking how our own fans criticized Mackie when he was the only player to show real flair since halmosi and give 110% every game. Yeh maybe he ran into corners or didn't look up enough or took too long to shoot or whatever. But he tried his hardest, and with the right leadership he will score 10-15 goals a season. Oh wait..6 games 6 goals. Go on Mackie prove everyone wrong. Well done Warnock, gets it right again.

Without taking sides in this tennis match you two are playing, there is something baffling about Mackie's strike rate.
He was banging them in for Exeter before us, he's banging them in for QPR after us. Given the fact he was being coached at Argyle by a pair of world cup gracing international strikers who were also prolific at the very highest domestic levels too - why on earth was he not prolific for us?.
We used to pick up players who seemed to up their game in our colours then went back to doing nothing special elsewhere, nowadays we seem to suck the talent out of any previously promising players.
Far from being greater than the sum of our parts, we're now lesser than the sum of our parts.

He didn't bang them in for Exeter though.

43 starts and 24 sub appearances got him 16 goals in the conference.

He's only just found his form.

Daily Star says QPR paid us £120,000 for him. That can't be right can it? I thought we bought him from Exeter for £150,000??
