That's a shame but completely understandable because JB and Chris came into the club together as Chairman and President so it's only fitting that they leave together.

Chris was an inspiration during our administration period, the fans needed a leader and Chris stepped up to be the one we followed, not only was he a leader he was also a great communicator, a fighter, an organiser, a protestor, he got things done and was exactly what the club and the fans needed at that time and was instrumental in bringing JB into the club.

For his efforts Chris richly deserved to be named the President of Plymouth Argyle Football Club.

A new era begins and if you're not sure what Chris did back in 2011/2012 then take a look at the Pasoti forum The Story So Far. History will show what Chris Webb did for the fans and the club.

Top man. One of the true ‘Heroes of the Resistance’ that fought off the vultures and helped save the club from extinction in its darkest hour.

Great time to go mate, you did your bit.

What a thing to have on your CV. 'I was the President of Plymouth Argyle FC'.

You (like me) are a JB man, and they no doubt (and understandably) will want their own person in.

Hope the new man/woman is as proud as you were.

You'll now be able to say what you want, rather than be 'club'.

As a kid, in my wildest dreams I could never have imagined being the president of the Club I loved - I lived that dream.

Loads of ups, loads of downs - but always proud. Having a fan hold that role was something unique in football and something I always felt as if wasn’t for me but for the whole fan base as recognition of our fight to save the Club.

Amongst the pride I am also hugely relieved. In my day job I am very keen to kick on with campaigns on safe standing, ticket pricing etc and this is best served independent of the Club.

Thank you to James Brent for your unbelievable loyalty and friendship - I’m sure I’ve tested both.

I’m looking forward to a bit more freedom to post on pasoti or moan at the ref on a Saturday - what a journey. Up the Argyle.

Just looking at the 'Story So Far' forum sends a shiver down my spine but also makes me feel so grateful for all that Chris, Sue Pollard, Ian Newell, Ian De-Lar etc. etc. did for our Club during the worst time in its history.

Well done Chris and thank you again for your help in saving our great Club - you've earned your place in Argyle folklore.

Exactly this - and this is what's forgotten by that foul and bitter other site.

Chris - enjoy your greater free time mate. I'm planning to move back to the southwest at some point in the next couple of years, so if you can get safe standing sorted by then that'd be great

It is clear to me that you have only ever acted in the best interests of the club and its fans and put more discretionary effort into our club than most of us would ever countenance. Thank you for that. In aggregate these efforts and those of others, including JB, mean we still have a club to cheer on a Saturday. That means a lot to me and my son for starters
