For all those people who are thinking about joining and giving a donation, which is fine. A better idea is to join yourself and use your donation to sign up other people who are not necessarily Argyle fans but wouldn't want to see the club die. I'm going to sign up my wife, mother and father in laws. We need numbers as well as money. So my £40 will sign up 4 people instead of just me.

As far as I am aware, they weren't there. I got phoned up later - before the match - and talked to the journo at some length. But I certainly didn't say that. I was very careful what I said.

The Indy don't do web and internet - can keep a copy though. I suppose the press will always put their own interpretation on things to make a story.

"Fans begin the long process of getting some involvement in running their club" doesn't make such a good headline!

As soon as they get a chance the form will be put on the website for people to download and print off. I'm sure we will be dishing out forms left, right and centre, don't worry nobody will escape. :)

Sorry if I've missed it somewhere, but I take it that the tenner hoes to the club? If not, what's it used for?

Can I suggest you visit the trust website. Money raised initially will be used for any administration costs (printing, stationary, postage etc.),in the worst case scenario the money will probably be used to restart a liquidated PAFC in what ever league we can get ourselves into (South Western League or worse) to pay all the running costs of a semi-professional football club. Best case scenario,PAFC are run by new owners who allow the "trust" to buy shares in PAFC giving the fan base a say in the running of PAFC. Or anywhere in between. You could also look at the "supporters direct" website to find out more about trusts involved with sports clubs (mainly football and rugby). You could also look up the trusts associated with teams like Exeter City,Brentford,Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday to find out what they do or have done.

Every little helps!!

It was good to see you again Hamzie, I was suprised you remembered me tbh.
I asked for extra forms to take to the Brit, unfortunatley they had ran out at the time, but the chap did bring a big pile up to the Brit half hour later, which I distributed amoungst people there. Most were really interested and were happy to have a form from me, and some gave me a blank look, I tried to explain, and left a form with them anyway :) So hopefully word has got round a bit more.

Nope, you must spell out everything for everyone without them ever having to go off and read something...

I went to the meeting, and thought it was a great success. Well planned, properly chaired. And the "external" speakers did well.

It was also very good that so many people turned up. Good of the two city MP's to make sure they were there too.

There was a lot of determination, and real passion in the room. And also talent, which I really hope the committee makes proper use of (the only thing that worried me was when the group on the top table said they were determined not to allow anyone else into their group. But perhaps I misheard. The Trust mustn't be a closed shop - and if seen as such, it will fail).

The key challenge is to build momentum - fast. And that's important. No-one is pretending that the Trust can resolve the desperate business challenges the club faces.

However, it can play a massive role in acting as a voice for the supporters (the people who really own the club). Starting now, not in April, or May, or the summer...

And that's really important. HMRC needs to see that Plymouth does care about its club. More important, local politicians and opinion-formers need to have it demonstrated to them that Argyle fans are a constituency to which they have to listen.

By the way, Plymouth simply cannot afford to be without a league club. Those in positions of authority need reminding of that too.

So - momentum. That's about the membership drive, building sympathetic media coverage, creating partnerships..... Generally, making a lot of noise, positioning the Trust as the true conscience of the football club. That way, the Trust can have real impact, pretty much from Day One.

Again, well done to everyone yesterday. However, and it's not often I quote Karen Carpenter, but I really do get the sense that in the context of the Trust - "we've only just begun".

the politicians of plymouth are rather young, inexperienced and naive..exept for gary streeter...who is rather old, very experienced, and not that interested in argyle which is not that strange...Streeter is looking to retire as a conservative.with a nice pension...he is not going to wreck any boats...just going with the flow

Peter, I think you must have heard wrong. There has to be a 56 day period before elections can be held. The process for the elections will start as soon as the season finishes. I wonder if you mis-heard the part where they said they wanted people to come forward if they were interested in joining for want of a better phrase a fund raising sub- committee. I think this is because of the amount of work that is being carried out and they think it's better for them to carry on doing what they are doing and for new people to start new work for now. I know at least one of the interim committee will probably not stand and some of the London based ones are hoping Plymouth area people will come forward for the main jobs like, chairperson, secretary and treasurer. Lee Jameson has actually told me he's hoping for 12 people to be on the committee.

Thoroughly under-whelmed by everything I've heard and read so far! Aims and objectives are far too woolly the membership rate far too cheap to achieve anything meaningful and far too many wannabe politicians.

A "board of 12" FFS. Five people are required - enough to run a vote with, enough to make progress quickly. Good communications structure needed and clear aims and objectives. That way you give your money, knowing where it is going and who is going to be using it. This way all you need is a failed politician with a Henry Fonda complex and suddenly we're all screwed - again.

Get rid of the (sorry Lee) local hobby horse lot. Pick a board of people who know what they're doing and have a proven football and or business background and start afresh. You also need a chairman with a bit of profile in the business - a Mickey Evans type.
