Press Release - Plymouth Argyle Supporters T & D Trust

The Plymouth Argyle Supporters Training and Development Trust have today issued the following Press Release through Ken Jones and will no doubt appear in the media tomorrow. This Trust was set up in 1995 to help fund the Argyle Youth Scheme. The Trust retained the proceeds from the sale of the Argyle Hostel.

The Press Release

"Plymouth Argyle Supporters Training and Development Trust is pleased to announce that following an opportunity to invest in Home Park Stadium
The Trust has agreed to provide a short term mortgage secured on Home Park Stadium.
These negotiations have been ongoing since the 1st of January and have now reached a satisfactory outcome.
The Trustees are pleased to have been able to agree a package which will benefit both parties.”

I wish to make it abundantly clear that the PAST & D Trust has absolutely nothing to do with the Argyle Fans Trust. Its aims and objectives are completely different and the decision made, as set out in the Press Release is one made entirely by the trustees of that Trust

What does this actually mean in the scale of things?

Will this help lift the transfer embargo?

It'll certainly pay the wage bill for a month.

Anyone got any facts/figures? Or what this means in the grand scheme of things?

Hopefully a press release should be forthcoming from the club at the same time. Wonder if any figures will be quoted and how short/long is "short term"?

Well - it must surely mean that the directors have given the trustees a pretty cast-iron assurance that they will not be putting the club into any kind of administration anytime soon, which MUST mean the boardroom is continuing to fund the club.

I for one applaud them for doing something to help. The mortgage hopefully protects the funds so that it benefits the club and not the board in anyway.

I'm sure that I'm probably supposed to think this is good news, but at the moment I don't think anything until it is in concrete hard stone.

£330k into the coffers (whoever's coffers it is) has got to be of help I would have thought.

I'm glad my money has been spent like this, and it looks as if it hasn't simply been handed across to the Silent Seven, which must be good news.

I know one of the Trustees <cough> I wonder whether he would like to post on here. I'll text him and see if he will.
