Actually HMRC wanted the club to go into administration voluntarily and not forced into it through the Courts - they argued that this would allow a winding-up petition to be valid. The petition would have been set aside otherwise.
The actions of HMRC could not have forced the Directors' hand today.
Argyle's barrister told us that if the Directors hadn't placed the club into admin today then Lombard would have. So really Lombard forced their hand
- but it was inevitable.

Thanks for that....I wondered why Lombard where at the proceedings...I guess Lombards are counting on getting all their money back
