The club will not be liquidated, there is no chance of that.

This is just a sick game that those in the know are playing. Their objective is to pay the lowest possible price for our club and to pay the creditors the lowest possible amount.

Those that thank them are deluded.

What is the alternative? There isn't one but that doesn't mean we should kiss their scheming backsides.

Ridsdale is sat in the Chairmans seat as i type

:appl: Very clever man.

PS. Brenda is Ridsdales mate.
The 2011-2012 season was the end for me.

We all agree to that......

If there is no positive news by the date set, then it could all be over.
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

:iagree: You hit the nail on the head, it look like watching lambs being led to the slaughterhouse. What gullible people we are.

Cheery up. There's no way Ridders could be any worse than the 7.

Maybe not worse but certainly not better.

I don't buy the "certainly not better" stuff. You'll never find me falling at the man's feet, or trusting him further than I can throw him, but I think he could very easily be better. He'd hardly have to try.

I do get your wariness Tavy, but his track record does not suggest he is worse. It merely suggests he is bad.
I think he's a decent chap.
It's times like this when a chap needs to be decent.

Borrowing 60 million against future gate receipts at Leeds, nearly taking Barnsley into liquidation, Leaving Cardiff just before accounts for 2009 revealed actual debt of around 60 million, I'd say his record is frankly appalling, but hey if we're still around next season i'll give him a go

If the Ridder is at the helm in the near future I don't think there is any way he will be able to borrow any money for Argyle with the current financial climate. The whole money borrowing thing is as good as over and with Argyle's track record, who in their right mind would lend us anything?

I think no matter who tales over we are in for a period of team re-building from scratch on a small budget, which will be no bad thing in my opinion.

In my humble opinion we need to recognise that an investor is unlikely to reap the kind of returns he/she might be seeking 'just' from the football club. He/She will be looking at land /Council opportunities to go alongside the Club.

So instead we really need a 'benefactor' not an investor and then he/she can tell all the boards to 'go away'....thats why I'm buying my Euro lottery for Friday, I won't need the full £68M...and I'll know before deadline day, fantastic!!!
Lovely jubbly

Surely if someone commits they are accepting financial responsibility (subject to terms being agreed) and if there is no interest we're done for anyway - or am I missing something ?

Short term cash, at least until someone is prepared to chuck a great wedge at us.

A tenner might buy a towel or some grub for the players.

It really is that bad.

I know your quote was indicative but do we really need towels before any prospective takeover (we won't need them if there isn't one) ? Are the players so skint they need the man in the street to put a tenner in for their dinner ?

I'm sorry but I'm not buying it. The announcement of the 14th changes everything.

I have to agree and i'm glad i'm not alone in wrestling with my conscience over this one. Given the scale of the hole we're throwing coins into and the imminent arrival of preferred bidder cash OR complete oblivion I can't see what difference my hard earned and much needed cash is going to make.

The staff fund I bought into, it was a show of solidarity to loyal club workers. Giving money to buy food for very wealthy young men who are being funded by their trade union strikes me as a bit rich while i'm scraping together enough to keep my family afloat.

It's been a difficult decision to come to, I like to think I'd do everything I can for my beloved club but this just seems to be monumental pi$$ing in the wind. The nail in the coffin was yesterdays news that Toad and the other characters from 'tales from the sh1t creek bank' were preparing a bid. We as a fans collective couldn't hope to ever raise more than a few thousand pounds, these wealthy inividuals can afford that for a bottle of champers. If Argyle is important enough for them to consider buying then they could donate MUCH MUCH more than we could ever hope to raise, yet they just sit idly by.

Well sorry, with genuine regret at the helplessness of it all, i'm afraid i'll be doing the same. On the 14th an injection of cash will come to see us through to the seasons end at least, if it doesn't we'll fold. In either scenario I just can't see the point of our efforts, however well meaning and big hearted.

I had an uneasy feeling about the £300k the trust lent Argyle, the payments spent by the taveners on overnight accomodation. I get the benefits but they're only *IF* we win, **IF** it means we survive relegation and the biggest......***IF*** we continue to exist as a club.

I can't help but feel there's a chance in a month or three that we'll regret spending all that. £300k would probably set us up quite well as AFC Argyle, that sum spent at that level would get you a hell of a lot more than it achieved loaning it to the NWO . The thousands spent housing our well paid (by the PFA) professionals for one night would fund the travel for our fledgling non-league entity for months.

If we survive it won't be down to our efforts, it'll be when A.N.Other property developer deigns to throw a few quid at the creditors and starts his quest to make money off the back of PAFC. I'm going to keep my money in case in the very near future AN Argyle REALLY needs it and it'll REALLY do some good.

It may come down to "Argyle + an ASDA in the carpark" or "No Argyle"

Which way would you vote? I know which way Plymouth City Council will go (I suspect they alreay have)
