Weird innit, I thought i'd get spades of abuse for taking that stance :?.

I suppose my biggest fear is that the fighting fund hands over a modest by hard raised cheque to Guilfoyle on the 13th. Pennies from down the back of the sofa, food gone without for families, kiddies piggy banks raided and kidfs pocket money donated for their beloved Argyle............. and Keith Todd's consortium is announced as the preferred bidder on the 14th .

I've been slapped in the face by that bunch of w'anchors, and their ilk (who any other bid will be comprised of) to willingly submit myself to the mother of all slaps in the face like that. I couldn't face it.

Resurgam will not be achieved by pi$$ing in the wind .

Which way would you vote? I know which way Plymouth City Council will go (I suspect they alreay have)

More likely a hotel on the corner of HP and/or student accomodation on the other corner.

I am not keeping up very well these days, so apologies in advance if this has been clarified: but why is the club doing all this fund-raising if the "deadline" will see either a cash injection or liquidation?

Is the answer related to the fact that this is now the 5th or 6th "final deadline before liquidation"... and therefore perhaps not the last throw of the dice after all?

There is a risk of us getting "deadlined out" - and if the worst does happen it will be accompanied by a whimper not a bang.

New fanbase then......
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

Just noticed this on the BBC website, apparently administrators have issued a deadline of noon on monday for any bids. Also says that they will choose a buyer by 17th March.

Also says PR has donated his 1986 FA Cup runner up medal for the fundraising auction, this man is surely one of the most dedicated managers we have had in recent years at argyle.

Have to agree with a lot of what X Isle said & he said it very eloquently.

As far as I can see any bidder(s) will be wanting to use Argyle to make a profit on some sort of property deal, so the football side of things will remain an annoying & expensive side issue to any deal that is made & it will be interesting to hear the view of the Council on the matter. There is no need for another Supermarket, no real need for Student accommodation & a Hotel & the rebuilt HP should have been tied in with the Life Centre.

I don't think that it's guaranteed that any bidder would just be interested in the property side of things.

I mean, if the sole reason for your investment was to make some money on property (a foolish speculation anyway in these times), there are 100s/1000s/1000000s of better property deals to be had over the country/world... it doesn't add you.

The property aspect might be away to fund the club, but why would anyone buy the club just for the property aspect - an aspect that the previous board couldn't make work without a World Cup host city spot.

The only problem I see with X Isle's post is the assumption that 300k would 'set us up well in a lower league'.

Look at Truro City, they have pumped alot more and had an existing infrastructure in place and they are still miles away from making any significant impact on a league placing.

I agree it seems we are chucking money into a black hole with the current situation, but football in general is now a black hole, and would any investment that Pasoti is able to make, make that big a difference?!
A long way from home....
