just being positive

I think the song does 'And now you're going to believe us'

There is no 'I' in Argyle :huddle:

Good news on a deal being dealt in principle. Personally I think, any new deal will be Maspoint agreeing to lower the amount owed to them and any prospective purchaser agreeing to pay Mastpoint once the club has been purchased but over a series of payment plus a high rate of interest
A long way from home....

Does he still do that 2-page spread diatribe in the Sunday Independent?

Remember those things? They were works of art.

Things like (and I invent) "...the government's latest benefits for immigrants scheme, why don't they just give them Trago Mills luxury sun loungers and matching parasol only 9.99" (this was the early 80s, but the price is probably much the same)

Apart from Harley's pages, they were the best bits of the Independent, cracking read.

I just don't get why the Mastpoint investors aren't happy to wait for their money. Surely their chums showed them the 5 year plan, they only have to wait just over 3 years for Premiership football now. :)

The boss's editorial on the advert pages in the local papers and Sunday Indy are not as good as when they were written by Bruce's father. He was a rampaging star and made mockery of the planning system in the beauty of the Glynn Valley. I think the most amusing story about Father Robertson [now deceased] it that he fought Caradon District Council for years. In the end he built a fine elevated bungalow for himself under the railway viaduct behind the stores. One summer his attic was infested by a big swarm of wasps/bees. He called in the Pest Controllers from Caradon D.C. who finally resorted to blow lamps to remove the bees/wasps. The pest guys accidentally set the roof timbers alight and burned down the new bungalow. What a coincidence!

Yes it did, just a few years ago. Apparently an electrical failure but it was far from a complete burn out. They were soon trading again.

Yes, large parts of the store burnt down and a 80% of the store stock was lost in the fire.... losses were estimated at hundreds of pounds
